An employer in the healthcare industry had a small number of high cost WSIB claims that were impacting their overall WSIB premiums as well as costing the employer in retraining and LMR fees. They wanted to reduce the impact of these small number of claims while maintaining the valuable expertise of their employees, instead of retraining them for other employment.
The Acclaim Solution
Acclaim reviewed these claims and was able to determine that some of the employees had pre-existing conditions that impacted their recovery potential that resulted in SIEF relief for these claims. In other situations, previously unidentified workplace accommodations were identified that allowed valuable employees to return to their jobs. Both of these actions resulted in reduced costs for the employer.
