Documents pertinent information as it relates to the delivery of Occupational Therapy services;Recognizes variations in the continuum of health by implementing Occupational Therapy interventions, which promote, maintain and restore health, prevent disease and injury and provide comfort.
Enforce safety rules and ensure careful adherence to physicians’ orders.
Protects the individual’s belief and values and the right to confidentiality, privacy and dignity;
Education and experience specific to the Client population (e.g., palliative care, pediatrics, orthopedics, neurology) an asset.
ADP (Assistive Devices Program) authorization status an asset.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Ability to function within an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a
variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups.

Access the functional health and wellness of workers by collecting job and employee related data through observation, measurements or interviewing.
Analyze data to identify the functional profile of the worker and the impact of the work setting on the person.
Act as a counsellor by advising or counselling employees on health or lifestyle related matters for prompt RTW.
Promote awareness of health and safety issues by assisting with employee orientation and training by publishing articles or by posting notices.
Monitor and assess the affect the work environment has on employees.Participate in the occupational health maintenance program through various activities such as pre-employment, periodic assessments, annual physical examinations, arranging or completing routine tests and measurements.
Attend to injured or disabled workers by providing administrative assistance, and arranging any necessary resources or changes to policy and procedures.
Ensure first aid preparedness by maintaining adequate stock of first aid supplies and replenishing first aid stations.
Coordinate the company physiotherapy program.
Attend and chair a variety of committees such as Health and Safety, Ergonomics and modified Work planning as needed by client.
Prepare and maintain job related records, reports and other assigned documents.
Comply with ethical, professional and legal requirements based on the client policies and procedures, as well as Federal and Provincial legislative regulations.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Stay current with disability and wellness practices.
Participate in required meetings, providing input and suggestions.
Liaison with the HR processionals within the client group.
Liaison with medical professional regarding the case management aspect of the role.
Minimum 2 years experience in disability management, human resources, employment services and / or social services.
Minimum 2 years experience servicing individuals with disabilities.
Membership in the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA).
Good standing with respective college and / or association.
Accreditation or certification in disability management (IE: Return to Work Coordinator (CRTWC); Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP); Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP), Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor (CCRC), Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), would be considered an asset.
